Overview
The Mechanical Commissioning Manager will oversee the commissioning of mechanical systems for a major pharmaceutical project, playing a pivotal role in the delivery of a complex facility. This contract position requires collaboration with package managers, subcontractors, and various project stakeholders to ensure all commissioning activities are performed safely and efficiently, meeting all project requirements. The candidate will lead the commissioning process from planning to final handover, ensuring compliance with standards and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commissioning activities for approximately 45 mechanical and utility systems.
- Develop and manage commissioning programmes, schedules, and testing activities.
- Coordinate with package managers, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Oversee flushing, pressure testing, cleaning, and commissioning activities.
- Manage commissioning documentation, procedures, test packs, and handover records.
- Chair commissioning meetings and provide progress updates to project leadership.
- Drive systems through turnover and facilitate final handover to clients.
- Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely, compliantly, and on schedule.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager, Mechanical Commissioning Manager, or similar role.
- Strong background in Mechanical and MEP Commissioning.
- Experience with commissioning stainless steel process pipework, mechanical utilities, HVAC systems, chilled water systems, heating water systems, and process air systems.
- Experience managing commissioning programmes through to handover.
- Strong stakeholder management and subcontractor coordination experience.
- Ability to oversee multiple systems and workstreams simultaneously.
- Desirable: experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or GMP-regulated projects.
- Desirable: experience with cleanroom, process facility, or advanced manufacturing projects.
