Overview
We are seeking a Cosmos DB Data Engineer to join our team for an initial contract lasting 3 to 6 months. The successful candidate will take ownership of designing and managing NoSQL data models using Azure Cosmos DB while ensuring data integrity and governance across various systems. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to lead data migration projects and optimize ETL/ELT processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Develop and manage NoSQL data models using Azure Cosmos DB, focusing on performance and cost efficiency.
- Define and implement data contracts for consistency and quality across systems.
- Lead and support data migration projects, including planning and execution.
- Build and orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data processing and reporting.
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing and managing data models in Azure Cosmos DB.
- Strong understanding of both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) data systems.
- Experience in developing ETL/ELT processes with Azure Data Factory.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Ability to lead data migration projects with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Familiarity with data governance and consistency best practices.
