Overview
The Data Analyst will join the Data team of a UK challenger bank to support a Data Excellence project. This contract position focuses on reviewing and analyzing large datasets, identifying trends and defects, and assessing their materiality and impact on the bank's operations. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to the bank's data strategy within a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Review large volumes of data exceptions to identify key themes and trends.
- Assess identified issues for materiality and impact on the bank.
- Collaborate with team members on data quality and remediation initiatives.
- Analyze data for regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.
- Implement data quality best practices for effective governance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data quality, remediation, or governance within financial services.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on assessing data materiality and risk.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis.
- Previous experience within a UK bank, particularly in Lending or Deposits.
- Knowledge of UK banking regulations and data requirements for reporting.
- Familiarity with Cloud Data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
