Overview
The Data Centre Technical Lead will oversee the end-to-end deployment of data centre infrastructure, ensuring that complex rack installations are executed smoothly and efficiently. This hands-on role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including engineers and OEMs, while also providing technical leadership and guidance. The position emphasizes practical troubleshooting and operational readiness as well as documentation development.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end rack and data centre deployments.
- Own power design and validation, including PDUs and power budgets.
- Troubleshoot racking, cabling, cooling, and hardware issues.
- Validate installation of servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Support Linux hardware bring-up and diagnostics.
- Coordinate efforts among engineers, OEMs, and facilities.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point during critical deployments.
- Develop deployment runbooks and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on data centre or infrastructure deployment experience.
- Strong knowledge of rack power, grounding, and physical infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with server, storage, and networking hardware.
- Solid Linux installation and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of Kubernetes or container infrastructure is advantageous.
- Comfortable working in live data centre environments.
- Must be willing to travel to Europe as required for deployments.
