Overview
The Azure Systems Engineer will join a leading Microsoft Services client on a hybrid basis, focusing on Azure platform engineering and DevOps automation over an initial six-month contract. The role entails designing, deploying, and supporting secure Azure environments while ensuring the reliability and observability of business-critical applications. Collaborating with team members, the engineer will enhance deployment practices and support integrations across the platform.
Responsibilities
- Design secure and scalable Azure environments.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Support application infrastructure, integrations, and production environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and automation practices.
- Manage identity, access, security, and governance across Azure.
- Enhance platform monitoring and performance metrics.
- Support SQL Server and Azure SQL management, troubleshooting, and backups.
- Contribute to vulnerability management and incident response processes.
Requirements
- Strong experience with the Microsoft Azure platform (compute, networking, storage, identity, security).
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise for CI/CD processes.
- Hands-on experience with Bicep, ARM Templates, and/or Terraform.
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, IAM, and RBAC concepts.
- Understanding of application delivery security and secrets management.
- Experience with Azure Monitor or Application Insights for observability.
- Knowledge of SQL Server/Azure SQL access management and troubleshooting.
