Overview
The Data Protection Support Officer will assist the Assigned Data Protection Officer (ADPO) within a public sector organization, focusing on maintaining compliance with data protection legislation. This hybrid role requires collaboration with internal teams to manage Data Subject Access Requests and contribute to data protection policies, ensuring a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and effective communication across departments.
Responsibilities
- Support the ADPO in completing and maintaining relevant data protection trackers and workflows.
- Assist in the development and upkeep of the data map and associated audit procedures.
- Manage Data Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Erasure requests, maintaining accurate records and workflows.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Data Protection mailbox.
- Provide guidance on email security and collaborate with Cyber Security colleagues as necessary.
- Contribute to the formulation of data protection policies and ensure timely reviews.
- Stay updated on current legislation to offer accurate support to teams.
- Assist in the training and awareness initiatives regarding Data Protection across various teams.
