Overview
We seek an experienced Data Science Lead to oversee impactful data science and AI initiatives for an Insurance Brokerage. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership, engaging closely with stakeholders to transform complex business challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions. The successful candidate will provide both thought leadership and hands-on involvement in the development of an in-house data science capability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and ongoing development of data science, machine learning, and AI solutions from discovery to production.
- Support existing AI models alongside the Data Analyst team.
- Translate business challenges into analytical and technical approaches that yield measurable value.
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across data science and AI projects.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and business stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and adoption.
- Mentor data analysts and establish best practices for modelling, experimentation, and productionization.
Requirements
- Strong track record in delivering data science and machine learning solutions in complex commercial environments.
- Deep expertise in Python, statistical modelling, machine learning, and data science tooling.
- Experience with modern cloud technologies, including Databricks and Azure.
- Proven experience in taking models and AI solutions from prototype to production at scale.
- Ability to lead technical teams and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong commercial judgement, balancing technical sophistication, delivery speed, and business impact.
- Experience in regulated environments, preferably in Insurance or Financial Services.
