Overview
The Design & Integration Engineer - High Voltage Battery Pack will lead the development of next-generation electric vehicle (EV) battery systems for global automotive clients. This contractor position, which lasts for three months, involves a hands-on engineering role that requires expertise in battery design and integration, as well as coordination with various teams and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of high voltage battery packs from concept to production.
- Define architecture for battery packs including housing and cooling strategies.
- Develop battery solutions optimizing for cost, performance, and safety.
- Assess integration of battery components and platforms to vehicle systems.
- Conduct package and installation feasibility studies using CAD and CAE tools.
- Drive the development of battery thermal management systems.
- Conduct design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and system-level risk analysis.
- Lead CAE-driven design optimization activities and simulations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in automotive product development or equivalent.
- Deep expertise in battery pack architecture and HV battery systems.
- Significant understanding of mechanical and electrical integration.
- Experience with supplier management and stakeholder coordination.
- Proven problem-solving skills in design issue resolution.
- Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC regulations.
- Experience in conducting thermal management and safety assessments.
