Overview
As a DevOps Engineer on a contract basis, you will join a mobile platform team dedicated to enhancing a UK government app and its supporting services. Collaborating closely with a senior engineer, you will contribute to cloud infrastructure management and operational tasks primarily in a remote capacity, with occasional in-person meetings. This role emphasizes learning and growth within a real AWS environment, facilitating your engagement in digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Make infrastructure changes using CloudFormation and Terraform under senior engineering supervision.
- Configure Lambda, API Gateway, KMS, and WAF as part of application support.
- Maintain and update documentation to reflect ongoing changes and practices.
- Proactively identify and report potential issues early in the process.
- Seek clarification and guidance when uncertain about tasks or changes.
Requirements
- Demonstrable commercial experience with AWS services.
- Familiarity with infrastructure management tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Understanding of serverless architecture, including Lambda and API Gateway.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on security best practices.
