Overview
In this role, the contractor will join the mobile platform team focused on developing and maintaining a UK government app. The position involves collaborating with mobile engineers and DevOps to build necessary backend services and implement secure authentication systems. The work primarily occurs remotely, with occasional meetings in London, and is centered around leveraging TypeScript and AWS technologies.
Responsibilities
- Build serverless services using TypeScript on AWS Lambda.
- Set up authentication using OIDC for secure sign-ins.
- Collaborate with mobile engineers to determine backend needs.
- Work with DevOps to ensure safe deployment of changes.
- Write tests and documentation to facilitate work continuity.
Requirements
- Proven experience in backend development.
- Experience building serverless services on AWS Lambda using TypeScript.
- Understanding of OpenID Connect (OIDC).
- Strong focus on security practices in development, particularly for government-based applications.
