Overview
We are seeking a Contract Director of Data who will lead and transform the data and AI function within a complex retail and consumer business environment. The successful candidate will actively engage with senior stakeholders, translating technical data realities into strategic narratives while managing a small data team. This hands-on role requires expertise in modernizing legacy data systems and driving operational changes at a fundamental level to support the company's growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Stabilize and operationalize new data standards across the organization.
- Drive integration of customer, commercial, and finance data within a CDP-style capability.
- Implement robust lineage practices to enhance data reliability and system connectivity.
- Translate technical data frameworks into strategic insights for senior leadership.
- Lead and develop a small data team, managing day-to-day operations and stakeholder interactions.
- Utilize Databricks for data management and integration initiatives.
- Address multi-system integration challenges and optimize data routing processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in modernizing multi-system, legacy data estates.
- Strong knowledge of lineage tooling and CDP concepts.
- Hands-on experience with finance data integration and AI/ML deployment.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into understandable narratives for leaders.
- Expertise in materialized views, data bus routing, and real-time vs batch data processing.
- Experience in managing and developing data teams in a dynamic environment.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in driving operational change.
