Overview
The Embedded Software Engineer will engage in the development and testing of low-level embedded software, focusing on both bare-metal and RTOS-based applications. Working in a hybrid environment, this contractor will collaborate with systems, software, and verification engineers to ensure software meets safety-critical objectives while satisfying certification standards. The role emphasizes the importance of software verification and integration testing within a dynamic team setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test low-level embedded software using C and Python.
- Perform software verification and integration testing.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality software outputs.
- Support requirements traceability and testing activities within a safety-critical environment.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and verification engineers throughout the software lifecycle.
- Work on low-level drivers and hardware interfaces for embedded applications.
Requirements
- Strong development experience in C and Embedded C.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Experience in low-level software testing and debugging.
- Familiarity with DO-178C or equivalent aerospace software certification standards.
- Demonstrated experience in embedded, real-time, or safety-critical systems development.
- Knowledge of low-level drivers, firmware, RTOS, or bare-metal environments.
