Overview
In this role, you will lead finance operations across a diverse portfolio of high-growth clients, acting as the trusted finance partner for founders and leadership teams. You will be responsible for driving financial strategy, providing insights, and overseeing various financial processes while preparing for advancement to a fractional CFO role. This contractor position offers the unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure in multiple business contexts simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Lead finance operations for a portfolio of clients, offering strategic financial insight.
- Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management to support business growth.
- Provide commercial storytelling with P&L and balance sheet analysis.
- Guide and mentor finance managers in day-to-day operations and best practices.
- Collaborate with founders on fundraising, scaling strategies, and decision-making.
- Utilize and ensure compliance with Xero for financial reporting and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in a finance or accountancy role.
- Ideal candidates will hold an accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or have strong alternative experience.
- Proven experience in fast-growth SMEs or scale-up environments as the senior finance leader.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple business contexts and adapt swiftly.
- Independent contractor mindset, with existing limited company set-up and adherence to IR35 regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Xero, Excel, Google Sheets, and AI tools.
