Overview
The Forward Deployed Engineer will join a technical consultancy focused on digital transformation, particularly in the area of AI adoption for healthcare clients. This role involves architecting and building robust AI systems using AWS technologies while ensuring compliance with strict governance standards. The engineer will collaborate with delivery managers and architects to deliver effective AI solutions that prioritize client outcomes in regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build AI systems on AWS Bedrock and AgentCore, covering RAG pipelines, knowledge bases, agent workflows, and production APIs.
- Develop back-end integrations that securely connect AI capabilities to client platforms, ensuring compliance with healthcare governance requirements.
- Design and run evaluation harnesses to ensure confidence in every release.
- Engineer prompt and context strategies that perform consistently in production environments.
- Engage with client stakeholders, translating technical decisions into understandable terms for regulated settings.
- Document architecture decisions and share lessons learned with the team.
- Maintain high engineering standards across all deliverables, including testing and documentation.
Requirements
- Solid back-end engineering foundations with code that is readable, testable, and maintainable.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, including model invocation and deployment patterns.
- Experience with AWS AgentCore or equivalent orchestration tooling for production-grade agents.
- Understanding of large language models, their failure modes, and engineering considerations.
- Proven experience constructing retrieval-augmented generation systems end-to-end.
- Ability to build evaluation frameworks that measure quality, consistency, and real-world performance.
- Comfort engaging directly with clients in regulated environments, focusing on governance constraints.
