Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Project Manager to lead a critical transformation initiative for a company-wide data platform. This role involves managing delivery across multiple teams and suppliers, ensuring effective governance and stakeholder alignment from inception through execution. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the programme's outcomes while maintaining high-quality standards and financial oversight.
Responsibilities
- Manage and curate programme backlogs, scope plans, and change control processes.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive RAID framework.
- Oversee resource allocation, capacity planning, and performance tracking across delivery teams.
- Facilitate decision-making across stakeholders, influencing outcomes without direct authority.
- Manage integrated project plans and schedules across multiple suppliers and workstreams.
- Review contractual commitments and ensure delivery aligns with agreed objectives and obligations.
- Maintain financial oversight, tracking forecasts, actual costs, variances, and programme reporting.
- Drive governance activities, steering committees, status reporting, and stakeholder communications.
Requirements
- Significant experience managing large-scale programmes involving multiple suppliers and consultancies.
- Strong project management expertise across planning, budgeting, governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and reporting.
- Experience delivering data platform, data management, or data product initiatives.
- Solid understanding of data concepts including data platforms, data lineage, data integrity, and data products.
- Proven ability to influence and drive decisions in matrix organisations.
- Strong commercial awareness including contract management and supplier governance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
