HVDC Package Manager

Overview

An experienced HVDC Package Manager is needed to oversee the delivery of a significant HVDC package in a large-scale offshore renewable energy project. This contract position focuses on providing technical, commercial, and strategic leadership while coordinating multiple interconnected workstreams, including both offshore and onshore electrical infrastructure. The role involves maintaining close collaboration with project teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the client representative for the HVDC package and contracts.
  • Provide expert guidance throughout contract development, negotiation, execution, and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain execution plans, schedules, budget forecasts, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate technical studies and engineering reviews to support decision-making.
  • Review contractor proposals and deliverables, providing independent assessments.
  • Manage interfaces across multiple project packages and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain project reports, progress trackers, and dashboards.
  • Support project leadership with reporting and strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Professional accreditation or membership in a recognized project management organization is desirable.
  • Relevant offshore certifications for offshore works are required.
  • Experience in delivering complex HVDC transmission systems.
  • Strong knowledge of high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) transmission infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale capital projects.
  • Expertise in contract management and disputes resolution.
  • Excellent stakeholder and supplier engagement skills.
