Overview
The Modelling & Simulation Technical Lead will oversee the design and integration of simulation capabilities within an Aerospace & Defence programme. This role involves collaborating with engineering and programme teams to ensure effective data exchange and the implementation of best practices in testing and evaluation. The contractor will focus on leading technical delivery while providing hands-on leadership and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery from requirements and design through development, integration, testing, and acceptance.
- Define simulation architectures and connect models, simulation systems, and synthetic environments.
- Ensure systems exchange data effectively through suitable interfaces, protocols, and standards.
- Support Test & Evaluation activities and apply Verification, Validation & Accreditation (VV&A) principles.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, working closely with engineering, architecture, and programme teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet the project requirements.
Requirements
- Significant experience delivering modelling and simulation or synthetic capabilities within Defence or similarly complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of simulation architecture, federation, and interoperability.
- Practical experience developing, integrating, configuring, and validating models and simulations.
- Understanding of Test & Evaluation and VV&A principles.
- Knowledge of how simulation integrates with Systems Engineering, MBSE, Digital Engineering, and digital twins.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and stakeholder management abilities.
- Existing SC clearance is preferred; candidates who can obtain SC will also be considered.
