Overview
The MP & TP Inspector position is a contract role focused on overseeing the quality and compliance of monopile and transition piece inspections for offshore wind projects in East Anglia. Working in a 2-week on/2-week off rotation, the inspector will ensure that all primary foundations and components meet stringent quality, safety, and engineering specifications, collaborating closely with various stakeholders on site.
Responsibilities
- Inspect monopiles, transition pieces, and related steel structures during fabrication and assembly.
- Monitor welding processes, surface preparation, and corrosion protection applications.
- Ensure adherence to Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and relevant offshore standards.
- Review documentation including material certificates, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and NDT reports.
- Identify non-conformances and assist in tracking corrective actions and punch-list clearance.
- Witness critical activities such as lifting operations, bolting, and steel installations.
Requirements
- Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Quality Management.
- CSWIP 3.1 or higher certification for Welding Inspection; Level II in NDT techniques (UT, MT, VT).
- Valid GWO Basic Safety Training (BST), BOSIET/HUET certification, and OGUK Medical.
- Minimum of 3 years of QA/QC inspection experience in offshore wind, specifically with monopiles and transition pieces.
