Overview
We are seeking a Network Test Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a client engagement in a hybrid role that includes site visits once or twice a month. The engineer will be responsible for testing and validating network systems, ensuring high-quality deliverables by liaising with various stakeholders and mentoring fellow engineers. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies in network testing and contribute to robust testing practices.
Responsibilities
- Own test design and execution across client workstreams.
- Review documentation to identify test scenarios and coverage gaps.
- Produce and peer-review test scripts, cases, and execution evidence.
- Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, and retest coordination.
- Validate test coverage for various types of testing before execution.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Test Engineers.
- Maintain ALM discipline for test case structure and reporting accuracy.
- Represent testing in technical design discussions, ensuring testability is assessed.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in SD-WAN, LAN/Wi-Fi, SIP/VoIP, and data centre testing.
- Proficiency with network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, BGP, and OSPF.
- Ability to perform network performance testing using tools like iPerf, Spirent, or IxNetwork.
- Experience in test design, execution, and leading complex testing environments.
- Strong organizational skills in maintaining ALM procedures and documentation.
- Solid understanding of disaster recovery and operational acceptance testing.
