Overview
We are seeking experienced Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers for contract positions that focus on water and wastewater treatment projects. As part of a multidisciplinary design team, these roles will contribute to the delivery of innovative engineering solutions and support a range of municipal and industrial projects across the UK. These contract positions are outside IR35 and offer long-term opportunities on technically challenging assignments.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Design LV power distribution systems, MCCs, control panels, and instrumentation.
- Develop technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical, process, and ICA engineering teams.
- Produce mechanical designs including pumping systems and associated equipment.
- Prepare GA drawings, equipment layouts, and fabrication details.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and project requirements.
Requirements
- Proven design experience within the UK water or wastewater sector.
- Strong understanding of LV distribution, MCCs, pumps, and pipework.
- Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with relevant British Standards and water industry specifications.
- Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams in fast-paced projects.
