Overview
We seek an experienced Technical Designer/Product Design Engineer to collaborate with an Industrial Design team in developing innovative consumer products. The role involves transforming creative concepts into technically feasible proof-of-concept solutions while engaging in CAD development, layout validation, and rapid prototyping. Ideal candidates have experience in consumer electronics or domestic appliance sectors and enjoy working within iterative and complex mechanical environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with Industrial Designers to translate creative concepts into practical engineering solutions.
- Rapidly develop, build, and evaluate proof-of-concept designs using an iterative approach.
- Develop complex multi-part assemblies, mechanisms, and detailed CAD models using Siemens NX.
- Work with industrial design surfaces and optimize technical packaging for functional product designs.
- Support concept development through layout validation, technical reporting, and rapid prototyping.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience, excluding placements and postgraduate study.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX and related CAD tools.
- Experience within consumer electronics or domestic appliance sectors preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on mechanical design and functionality.
- Ability to work both on-site and remotely as needed.
