Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Engineer with a strong backend focus to join a dynamic engineering team dedicated to developing high-volume commercial platforms. The role will involve building and maintaining complex systems for billing, pricing, and settlements, leveraging skills in Python, TypeScript, and AWS. The successful candidate will enjoy a high level of ownership and will be instrumental in shaping technical solutions on core business functions within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services using Python.
- Build scalable functionalities for billing and pricing platforms.
- Develop APIs and workflows for processing high volumes of transactional data.
- Model complex business rules and perform financial calculations.
- Collaborate with Product teams to create solutions from first principles.
- Contribute to full-stack development when necessary, particularly with TypeScript.
- Enhance system reliability, scalability, and overall engineering practices as the platform evolves.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong experience in production-grade Python development.
- Background in building billing, settlement, pricing, or payment platforms.
- Experience in the Energy, Utilities, Commodity Trading, or Financial Trading sectors is highly desirable.
- Comfort with data-heavy systems and complex business logic.
- A strong product-focused mindset and ownership mentality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in startup or scale-up environments is an advantage.
