Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a newly formed Data Exchange squad within a prominent consumer technology organization. This role will focus on developing a standardized and scalable platform for onboarding external partners and securely exchanging data, requiring collaboration with an experienced Lead Data Engineer in a dynamic, greenfield environment.
Responsibilities
- Build Python-based data ingestion and exchange services.
- Develop repeatable integration patterns for external partners.
- Support onboarding of partners with diverse technical capabilities.
- Improve speed and consistency of new data integrations.
- Contribute to secure data-sharing capabilities.
- Explore data clean rooms and cross-organizational data collaboration.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on technical design.
- Establish engineering standards for the new squad.
Requirements
- Strong commercial Python experience.
- Proven data engineering experience in developing data ingestion or exchange services.
- Good understanding of modern cloud data platforms.
- Comfortable working with inconsistent data structures from external systems.
- Strong software engineering and system design fundamentals.
- Ability to contribute in a small, hands-on engineering team.
- Experience collaborating with product managers and technical leadership.
- Interest in AI-assisted engineering practices and agentic engineering loops is a plus.
