Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Program Management Office (PMO) Lead to spearhead the establishment and delivery of PMO capabilities within a rapidly growing UK insurance organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and senior leadership to create robust governance and reporting frameworks that will effectively manage a diverse portfolio of business transformation initiatives. This role is designed for a proactive individual who can design and implement PMO processes from the ground up in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Establish PMO capability including governance, standards, controls, and operating rhythm.
- Build a consolidated view of transformation activities across the organization.
- Implement portfolio-level plans, milestones, dependencies, and priorities.
- Create effective RAID, decision, and action management processes.
- Develop executive and board-level reporting to provide clear visibility to leadership.
- Introduce financial tracking, forecasting, and benefits visibility across change initiatives.
- Identify cross-program dependencies and competing demands.
- Support governance for future acquisitions, integration, and transformation activities.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a PMO Lead, Head of PMO, or Portfolio PMO.
- Demonstrable experience in setting up PMOs from scratch.
- Proven background in the insurance industry, particularly within regulated environments.
- Experience supporting a broad range of transformations, beyond purely technology projects.
- Familiarity with executive reporting and communication at CFO or COO levels.
- Excellent financial management and portfolio reporting skills.
- Ability to implement controls without excessive bureaucracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in organizations undergoing growth, acquisitions, and integrations is highly valued.
