Overview
The Research Officer (Data Analyst) will join the Policy & Research Team to enhance research efforts by managing and analyzing complex datasets. Collaborating closely with the Senior Researcher and other team members, this role focuses on developing analytical reports that inform evidence-based policies. The position offers a blend of on-site and remote work, supporting the importance of data-driven insights in the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Support the management of research databases and relationships between datasets.
- Conduct data cleaning, querying, and manipulation.
- Maintain and develop Excel workbooks for research and analysis.
- Utilize Excel and Power BI to manipulate data and generate analytical reports.
- Analyze information gathered by Inquiry teams for research purposes.
- Communicate findings clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Take ownership of individual projects, objectives, and targets.
- Assist with the copy-editing and proofreading of reports for accuracy and consistency.
Requirements
- Strong practical data analysis experience with complex datasets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query and Macros.
- Proficiency in data manipulation tools such as Power BI, Access, SQL, R, or Python.
- Experience managing large-scale research projects and datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Effective time-management and organizational skills.
- Resilience to work with sensitive subject matter and meet tight deadlines.
