Overview
As a Risk Engineer, you will be integral to the successful delivery of major electrical transmission infrastructure projects. Collaborating with Risk Managers and project teams, you will identify, assess, and mitigate risks to enhance project outcomes. This hybrid role will involve both office work and travel to project sites, enabling you to apply your expertise directly where it matters most.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project risk registers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate risk workshops with project teams, clients and supply chain partners.
- Produce and maintain Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA) for schedule and cost risk.
- Monitor mitigation actions and ensure risks are effectively managed.
- Support programme risk reviews, Early Warning Registers and stage-gate assessments.
- Analyse programme dependencies and recommend appropriate contingency.
- Produce clear risk reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Risk Managers to embed best practice across projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project risk management on major infrastructure, utilities, energy or construction projects.
- Familiarity with Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA) and schedule and cost risk analysis.
- Experience in developing risk registers and mitigation planning.
- Knowledge of change management and analytical reporting.
- Familiarity with ISO 31000 or recognized risk management methodologies.
- A degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is preferred.
- Possession of a professional qualification such as IRM, APM Risk, or equivalent.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites is essential.
