Overview
In this role, the SAP Test Manager will be responsible for leading all testing activities related to the SAP S/4HANA Payroll implementation, ensuring quality and governance are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborating with business, technical, and third-party teams, the manager will oversee the end-to-end testing process, from strategy development to successful go-live and hypercare support, all while managing risks and reporting status to program leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the overall test plan across all phases - SIT, UAT, Regression, and Data Migration.
- Coordinate testing across multiple workstreams, suppliers, and business teams.
- Manage test environments, test data, defect triage, and reporting activities.
- Ensure entry/exit criteria and quality gates are met before progressing between phases.
- Provide regular status reporting, risk management, and governance updates to programme leadership.
- Support business users through UAT planning, execution, and sign-off.
- Collaborate with the Payroll SME, Project Manager, and technical teams to ensure a successful go-live and hypercare phase.
Requirements
- Proven Test Management experience on enterprise SAP programs, particularly SAP S/4HANA Payroll.
- Strong understanding of the full test lifecycle across SIT, UAT, Regression, and Data Migration.
- Experience managing test environments, data, defect triage, and reporting at scale.
- Ability to own quality gates, entry/exit criteria, and phase governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across business, technical, and third-party teams.
- Strong reporting, risk, and governance skills at the programme level.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to work UK hours on-site 3 days per week in Edinburgh.
