Overview
We are seeking a Finance Systems Implementation Lead to manage the end-to-end implementation of a new finance system for a prominent public body. The role involves collaborating with Finance, IT, and external partners to drive improvements in financial processes and reporting. This position is ideal for a finance systems professional who excels in project management and enjoys facilitating transitions to new operational frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and implementation of a new finance system.
- Establish and manage the project team to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into system solutions.
- Review existing finance processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, control enhancements, and automation.
- Oversee system configuration, testing, data migration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Assist in cleansing, validating, and reconciling financial data during the implementation process.
- Develop reporting requirements and support the creation of dashboards and management information.
- Prepare process documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Facilitate training sessions and support colleagues in the adoption of new systems and processes.
Requirements
- Significant experience in delivering finance system implementations or ERP projects.
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or relevant practical experience.
- Strong understanding of finance processes, financial controls, and management reporting.
- Experience in project teams, particularly within systems implementation or change environments.
- Skills in business process mapping, requirements gathering, and process improvement.
- Experience in data migration, system testing, and UAT support.
- Advanced analytical skills and strong proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
