Overview
As an SAP Test Manager, you will oversee the comprehensive testing activities for a large-scale SAP S/4HANA Payroll implementation. You will work collaboratively with business, technical, and third-party teams to ensure that the testing processes align with quality standards and that potential risks are managed effectively. This role involves driving the testing strategy from inception to deployment, maintaining a hands-on approach throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the overall test plan for all testing phases including SIT, UAT, Regression, and Data Migration.
- Coordinate testing efforts across various workstreams, suppliers, and business units.
- Manage test environments and data, including defect triage and test reporting.
- Ensure compliance with entry and exit criteria and maintain quality gates throughout the testing phases.
- Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and governance reports to programme leadership.
- Support business users in UAT planning, execution, and obtaining necessary sign-offs.
- Collaborate closely with the Payroll SME, Project Manager, and technical teams from project initiation to go-live and hypercare.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Test Manager on enterprise SAP programmes, specifically with SAP S/4HANA Payroll.
- Strong understanding of the complete test lifecycle including SIT, UAT, Regression, and Data Migration.
- Experience in managing test environments, data, and defect triage at scale.
- Ability to own and enforce quality gates, entry/exit criteria, and phase governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across business, technical, and third-party teams.
- Strong reporting, risk management, and governance competencies at the programme level.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; able to work onsite three days a week in Edinburgh.
