Overview
In this contract role as a Senior Android Developer, you will join a mobile platform team responsible for a UK government app. Your focus will be on enhancing the app's core functionalities and integrating features developed by other teams, collaborating closely with QA and backend engineers. This position allows for remote work, with occasional office days in London, and offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful digital transformation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve common components of the Android app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Integrate features developed by other teams into the app.
- Conduct code reviews for your work and for peers' code.
- Monitor app performance using Crashlytics and resolve issues as necessary.
- Collaborate with QA and backend engineers to ensure technical soundness.
- Identify and communicate technical risks early in the development process.
- Participate in team discussions and contribute to planning efforts where needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in native Android development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Experience using Crashlytics for app stability monitoring.
- Ability to work effectively in a small, agile team environment.
- Willingness to provide and accept constructive feedback during code reviews.
- Eligibility for SC clearance, with a minimum of five years of continuous residency in the UK.
- Preferably holding current SC clearance.
