Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join our team on a long-term contract, focusing on 11kV electrical distribution projects throughout the Yorkshire area. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure safe and efficient operations across a variety of distribution projects, including asset replacement, maintenance, and new connections. This role is crucial for upholding safety standards and facilitating planned works within the NPG network.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Senior Authorised Person on the electrical network, performing switching, isolations, earthing, and restoration activities.
- Prepare and implement switching schedules in accordance with NPG safety protocols.
- Issue, receive, and cancel safety documentation, such as Permits to Work and Sanctions for Test.
- Support various distribution projects, including 11kV and 33kV cable works, substations, and overhead lines.
- Coordinate planned outages and switching activities in collaboration with Network Control and site teams.
- Ensure adherence to NPG electrical safety rules and safe systems of work.
- Assist with commissioning, energisation, and network restoration activities as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of switching activities and safety documentation throughout the contract.
Requirements
- Possess current or previous NPG authorisations.
- Demonstrate strong experience working on 11kV electrical distribution networks.
- Have a thorough understanding of switching procedures, safety documentation, and DNO safety regulations.
- Show experience in supporting distribution projects such as cable works, substations, and asset replacement.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
