Overview
The Senior Authorised Person will be engaged in a long-term contract supporting electrical distribution works across the SP Manweb network. This role involves overseeing key projects involving 11kV and 33kV distribution systems and collaborating closely with Network Control, Project Managers, and site teams to ensure safety and compliance during operations. The contractor will play a critical role in managing switching activities, safety documentation, and will support both planned maintenance and new connection projects.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Senior Authorised Person on the SP Manweb network, executing switching, isolations, earthing, and restoration activities.
- Prepare and implement switching schedules in accordance with SPEN safety rules.
- Issue, receive, and cancel Permits to Work and Sanctions for Test documentation.
- Support 11kV and 33kV cable, substation, overhead line, and asset replacement works.
- Liaise with Network Control, Project Managers, and site teams to coordinate planned outages and switching activities.
- Ensure compliance with SPEN electrical safety rules and safe systems of work.
- Maintain accurate records of switching and safety documentation throughout the projects.
Requirements
- Current or previous SPEN SAP authorisation on the Manweb network, preferably up to 33kV.
- Strong experience in operating within 11kV and/or 33kV electrical distribution networks.
- Good understanding of switching procedures and DNO safety documentation.
- Experience in supporting distribution projects, including cable works, substations, and overhead lines.
- Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate with Network Control and site teams.
- Full UK driving licence is required.
