Overview
The Senior Data Engineer will work with a specialist digital consultancy focused on the wealth and investment sector to enhance data insights for a wealth management business. Collaborating closely with both data and business teams, this role will involve designing and building data pipelines, semantic models, and Power BI reports, with a significant emphasis on utilizing Microsoft Fabric. The position offers the chance to take ownership of the entire data journey, from raw data to actionable insights, within an initial contract period of six months, with potential for extension or permanent placement.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain semantic models and create Power BI dashboards and reports with optimized DAX.
- Develop complex SQL, stored procedures, and transformation logic for reporting and analytics.
- Build and maintain scalable PySpark pipelines for large-scale data integration and processing.
- Support the development of a modern data platform on Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse and data pipelines.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD, version control, and testing processes to ensure reliable data releases.
- Apply knowledge of wealth management to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, semantic modeling, and DAX.
- Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
- Practical experience in building data pipelines using PySpark.
- Experience with CI/CD processes in data engineering and BI solutions.
- Understanding of data quality, governance, security, and regulatory considerations in financial services.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Desirable: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and wealth management platforms.
