Overview
As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will lead a pivotal Discovery phase for a central government consultancy, working remotely and outside IR35 regulations. You will act as a bridge between product strategy and execution, shaping product vision while establishing robust delivery governance to ensure long-term project success. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class digital services that meet the evolving needs of government users.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Discovery phase of projects, ensuring alignment with product strategy and governance.
- Deliver projects using agile methodologies that reflect best practices and user experience standards.
- Collaborate with Product/Service managers and designers to define product roadmaps.
- Prioritize project work against team capacity and capability within a dynamic planning process.
- Initiate and conduct Agile ceremonies, continuously improving team performance.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and align with GDS (Government Digital Service) guidelines.
- Remove blockers for the delivery team to facilitate project execution and promote collaboration.
- Equip teams with the necessary tools and processes for successful product delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading Discovery phases in line with GDS standards.
- Strong background in agile project management and iterative delivery.
- Ability to identify project issues and provide timely solutions.
- Experience in building relationships across cross-functional teams and with senior management.
- Skills in product management, including backlog shaping and vision refinement.
- Hands-on experience with large public sector projects and complex delivery portfolios.
- Demonstrated capability in mentoring and leading cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of product functionality and the ability to translate business needs into outcomes.
