Overview
In this role, the Senior Machine Learning Engineer will spearhead the establishment of machine learning capabilities within a manufacturing context that has not previously utilized these technologies. The engineer will design and implement an ML framework that focuses on optimizing a key physical manufacturing process, working primarily with sensitive data in a secure environment. This position offers the opportunity to create and define every aspect of the machine learning operation, from data pipelines to model deployment, while collaborating with a small team and reporting directly to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Define the machine learning strategy and architecture for the organization.
- Develop and implement data pipelines to support machine learning workflows.
- Train and validate machine learning models with a focus on offline and shadow mode testing.
- Monitor and evaluate models in a controlled production environment to assess business impact.
- Establish best practices and standards for model deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with manufacturing specialists to understand operational challenges and data needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building machine learning models from the ground up.
