Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading company focused on developing advanced industrial products. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing manufacturing processes and supporting new product introductions while driving operational excellence within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure product designs are efficiently translated into high-quality manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures and manufacturing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing specifications and process documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and yield while reducing waste and cost.
  • Lead manufacturing risk assessments and define mitigation strategies.
  • Support design reviews to ensure products are optimised for manufacture and assembly.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and improving manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/A).
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing risk assessment methodologies including PFMEA and DRBFM.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
