Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will join a dynamic commercial team on a long-term freelance basis, focusing on the commercial management of multiple infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in civil engineering and NEC contracts, and entails working closely with operational teams and stakeholders to ensure optimal project delivery and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of projects throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Prepare and negotiate applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Administer subcontractor accounts including procurement, payments, and variations.
  • Manage change control procedures and commercial risk.
  • Produce accurate cost forecasts and financial reports.
  • Monitor project performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and robust commercial governance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment.
  • Strong background delivering civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or construction projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
  • Experience managing subcontract packages and commercial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, forecasting, and valuations.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Full UK driving license.
