Overview
We are seeking a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic commercial team on a hybrid working basis. The successful candidate will oversee the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and effective cost control. This position is perfect for an experienced professional looking to contribute to a growing contractor with a solid pipeline of projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial aspects of projects from award to final account.
- Administer NEC contracts effectively.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and valuations.
- Manage compensation events and variations.
- Procure and commercially manage subcontract packages.
- Monitor project costs and identify risks and opportunities.
- Produce accurate commercial reporting and documentation.
- Liaise with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience in managing subcontract procurement and administration.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent commercial awareness and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
