Business Governance & Controls Analyst

Overview

The Business Governance & Controls Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting product governance and compliance within the banking and financial services sector. This position involves coordinating governance activities, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with various teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. The analyst will work in a hybrid arrangement, balancing time between in-office and remote work while focusing on fostering effective governance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support product governance activities, including new product approval materials and governance records.
  • Coordinate meetings for the Product Governance Committee and UK governance forums, managing agendas, papers, and minutes.
  • Maintain governance trackers and ensure compliance evidence is appropriately recorded.
  • Assist with the UK Branch governance framework, including control documentation and performance evidence.
  • Coordinate risk assessments, attestation processes, and first-line risk activities.
  • Prepare quarterly governance reports and management reporting documents.
  • Maintain governance repositories, including committee papers and risk registers.
  • Collaborate with business teams and second-line stakeholders to ensure timely completion of governance tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a governance, controls, or risk role.
  • Experience within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Understanding of UK banking governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with operational control frameworks and reporting environments.
  • Experience with Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and risk documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field preferred.
