Overview
We are seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to engage in a complex project involving reverse engineering and enhancing an existing Rust-based system that interacts with specialist physical hardware. The successful candidate will work closely with the engineering team, tackling challenging problems and contributing to the development of innovative solutions. This hybrid role allows for a combination of remote work and on-site collaboration in Greater Manchester when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance a complex Rust-based system.
- Reverse engineer existing system behaviors and architectures.
- Investigate and analyze interactions between software and physical hardware.
- Diagnose and resolve complex engineering problems.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider engineering team throughout the project.
- Work directly with physical equipment as required.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in Rust programming.
- Experience working with complex production software systems.
- Proficient in reverse engineering and understanding existing systems.
- Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases and comprehend their functionality.
- Comfortable working with software that interacts with physical hardware.
- Willingness to travel to Greater Manchester for equipment access when needed.
