Overview
The Senior Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and deploying high-quality software solutions within a dynamic technology team. This contract position emphasizes mentorship and leadership, encouraging collaboration with Technical Leads and Product Managers to solve complex technical challenges in the hospitality space. The engineer will focus on driving technical excellence and innovation while contributing to the architectural direction of the products as part of a hybrid or remote work environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions.
- Lead technical implementation of complex initiatives from discovery through production.
- Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, and Technical Leads to shape technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, coaching, and constructive code reviews.
- Drive improvements to engineering standards, tooling, and development practices.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical roadmaps.
- Build comprehensive automated testing and continuously improve test coverage.
- Own services in production, including monitoring, observability, alerting, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Significant commercial software engineering experience delivering production systems.
- Expert proficiency in Rust, Golang, or TypeScript.
- Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.
- Experience working across multiple programming languages and technology stacks.
- Strong experience with CI/CD, cloud-native development, and production support.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
