Overview
As a Senior Subcontract Manager, you will oversee the development and management of subcontract scopes for Mechanical Works and Electrical & Instrumentation Works during the engineering and development phases of significant decommissioning and carbon capture projects. You will lead a team of Subcontract Engineers and Administrators, ensuring compliance with subcontract administration procedures, while monitoring subcontractor performance and managing commercial close-out activities. This role focuses on driving efficiency and continuous improvement within subcontract management, contributing to the successful delivery of large-scale projects in the Oil & Gas and energy sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Subcontract Engineers and Administrators team.
- Ensure adherence to subcontract administration procedures by all subcontractors.
- Prepare and issue required correspondence to subcontractors, ensuring timely responses.
- Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance and compliance.
- Review and validate subcontractor payment applications for accuracy.
- Support project management by identifying project variations and claims.
- Analyze technical queries, site instructions, and deviation requests for cost impacts.
- Manage commercial close-out activities of subcontract agreements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience in offshore facilities or complex construction projects within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or CCS sectors.
- Strong understanding of subcontract management and commercial administration.
- Proficient in managing variations, claims, and cost control.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical and contractual documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing stakeholders in large-scale EPC/EPCI projects.
