Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Hydrogen Fuel Systems Engineer to join an aerospace programme on a contract basis. This hands-on role involves the design, integration, and testing of hydrogen fuel systems, focusing on both gaseous and cryogenic applications. The engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful delivery of hydrogen storage, distribution, and conditioning systems while adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop hydrogen fuel-system architecture and integration.
- Design and implement gaseous and cryogenic hydrogen storage, distribution, and conditioning solutions.
- Select and integrate fuel-system components.
- Conduct pressure, leak, and system testing and validation.
- Apply thermodynamics and fluid/gas dynamics principles to fuel systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including FHA, FMEA, and FTA.
- Manage supplier relationships and oversee technical delivery of components.
Requirements
- Proven experience in developing hydrogen or cryogenic fuel systems.
- Strong understanding of hydrogen storage, distribution, and conditioning systems.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid/gas dynamics.
- Hands-on experience in system development, integration, and validation.
- Familiarity with system safety and reliability methodologies.
- Experience with aerospace systems and relevant certification processes is advantageous.
