Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role is critical in supporting the migration of a business-critical application from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, collaborating closely with the Lead Technical Architect to build and support Azure infrastructure to ensure a secure and operationally ready platform. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project and work in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Support discovery, technical assessment, and detailed migration planning.
- Build and configure Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking components.
- Implement security controls and identity management solutions within Azure.
- Establish and maintain operational services such as monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Manage migration activities, including cutover and rollback procedures to minimize downtime.
- Conduct resilience, backup, and disaster recovery testing to ensure system robustness.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and migration issues promptly and effectively.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and operational handover materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Azure cloud migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure components such as compute, storage, and landing zones.
- Experience with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Familiarity with Entra ID / Identity & Access Management.
- Understanding of Azure security best practices.
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
