Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with expertise in GoLang to join our Video on Demand and Live Streaming team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will focus on developing high-performance backend services and integrating them with third-party services, while collaborating with other team members to ensure quality and efficiency. This role is tailored for professionals with a strong background in video streaming protocols and microservices architecture, and will be conducted remotely in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Develop functional and high-performing backend services that meet platform requirements.
- Write high-quality, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Integrate the platform with necessary third-party services such as CDNs and DRM providers.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of systems and components.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems for production environments.
- Conduct troubleshooting and debugging to solve complex issues.
Requirements
- Senior or Lead level experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in GoLang is a must-have.
- Experience with additional backend languages such as VCL, Node.js, or Python.
- Strong understanding of video streaming protocols including HLS and MPEG-DASH.
- Experience with DRM technologies like Widevine, PlayReady, and FairPlay.
- Familiarity with CDNs such as AWS CloudFront, Akamai, or Fastly.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Solid knowledge of databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
