Overview
The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role in a Cloud-Native Government program by leveraging their Full Stack development skills. This fully remote position prioritizes frontend expertise, particularly with Express.js and TypeScript, while also requiring significant backend experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot. The engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement robust solutions and adhere to GDS standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain frontend UIs using Express.js and TypeScript.
- Integrate backend services and APIs, focusing on Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Deploy and manage cloud services in AWS, collaborating with the managed platform team.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.
- Utilize containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Adhere to Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and maintain documentation.
- Participate in agile methodologies, knowledge sharing, and peer reviews.
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance is required.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong focus on frontend technologies.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or Express.js, and backend experience with Kotlin or Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with AWS services and deploying cloud-native applications.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and related tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in agile teams and adherence to coding standards and TDD practices.
