Overview
The Senior Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing pricing, inventory, and availability systems for a high-traffic global e-commerce platform. Responsibilities
- Build and improve pricing, inventory, and availability services.
- Develop quote-caching and data freshness strategies.
- Design resilient APIs and manage third-party integrations.
- Reduce latency and improve overall platform performance.
- Balance pricing accuracy with cache efficiency and infrastructure cost.
- Enhance monitoring, tracing, and production observability.
- Own solutions from investigation through to deployment.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience building pricing, inventory, or availability systems.
- Background in high-traffic e-commerce, marketplace, or travel platforms.
- Strong understanding of caching strategies and data freshness techniques.
- Experience designing reliable APIs with retries, timeouts, and idempotency.
- Good knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Experience integrating with unreliable or poorly documented third-party APIs.
- Proficiency in testing, CI/CD, deployment, and monitoring in production environments.
