Overview
The SQL Database Administrator will join a technology team on a 6-month contract to enhance operational efficiencies through effective database management. The contractor will work closely with project teams to address key database challenges, ensuring performance, security, and reliability of SQL Server databases across various environments while providing support for deployments and migrations.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases across production and non-production environments.
- Monitor and optimise database performance.
- Troubleshoot database and performance issues.
- Manage database security, permissions, and access.
- Support database deployments, migrations, and changes.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Ideally some experience with MongoDB.
- Good knowledge of database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with backups, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Understanding of database security and access management.
