Overview
We are looking for a skilled Storage Administrator & Disaster Recovery Manager to join a specialized consultancy for a major client mainframe project. This fully remote role involves collaboration with technical teams and client stakeholders to ensure the performance, resilience, and recoverability of critical mainframe systems and data. The candidate will manage storage operations and disaster recovery processes, making this a key technical position within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on administration and support across the IBM mainframe storage environment.
- Manage mainframe datasets, files, and storage resources.
- Support storage operations, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Investigate and resolve storage-related incidents and operational issues.
- Support backup, restore, and data recovery activities.
- Coordinate and support disaster recovery testing and recovery exercises.
- Assist in maintaining and reviewing disaster recovery procedures and plans.
- Work with technical teams to ensure disaster recovery readiness and operational resilience.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mainframe Storage Administrator or related role.
- Strong knowledge of IBM mainframe storage environments.
- Practical experience with dataset, file, and storage management.
- Experience in backup, restore, and recovery processes.
- Demonstrable experience with disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Understanding of mainframe resilience, availability, and recovery requirements.
- Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills.
- Must hold current, active UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
