Overview
The Interim Systems Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting a major SAP migration project, focusing on financial data integrity and reporting accuracy. Collaborating with finance, IT, and operational teams, the contractor will help reconcile data, troubleshoot reconciliation issues, and establish robust reporting processes as the organization transitions to the new system. This hands-on position requires a detailed understanding of financial reporting and systems accounting, ensuring a successful transition ahead of the SAP go-live date.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile system outputs to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support the transition and integration of data from the operational system into SAP.
- Identify, investigate and resolve missing or incomplete data.
- Map and validate data flows across systems, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure SAP outputs feed accurately into Power BI for P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Troubleshoot reconciliation issues, data inconsistencies and reporting discrepancies.
- Help establish robust, reliable financial reporting processes ahead of and following go-live.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong systems and financial reporting experience.
- Proven experience in systems accounting, finance transformation or ERP migration projects.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or Power BI.
- Strong data flow mapping and reconciliation experience.
- Understanding of Bronze, Silver and Gold data architecture.
- Ability to identify data quality issues and implement practical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of P&L, balance sheet and financial reporting processes.
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to deliver within tight deadlines.
